a kitchen and dining hall, a common room, sleeping quarters
for a maximum of 14 people, bathing and toilet facilities,
and the templekeeper's quarters. |
Except
during sesshin, when all but the residents' rooms are opened
to the sesshin attendees, accommodations may be either shared
or private, depending on availability and preference. Bedding,
linens, and towels are provided, along with simple furnishings.
People residing at Palolo for extended periods (three months
or more) are welcome to bring personal furnishings, within reasonable
limits.
Food
Palolo residents and
visitors eat a simple vegetarian diet.
Telephone
The kitchen phone can
be used for local calls. Long distance calls can be made with
a calling card.
Library
Palolo houses a small
library containing books on Zen, Buddhist traditions, and related
subjects.
Transportation
The Center cannot provide
transportation. There is a public bus stop approximately one mile
downhill from the Center. Long-term residents sometimes purchase
